Uwagi
- It has recently been used to raise blood pressure.
- Its action is stronger than that of Per. Citri Reticulatae Chen Pi.
- It is often substituted for Zhi Shi and Zhi Ke in Bupleurum Chai Hu formulas, particularly for treating pain and tumors, where it assists Chai Hu in dredging the Liver and dispersing bound Qi.
- It is useful for chronic bronchitis involving Qi Stagnation in the chest.
- Qing Pi's scattering, unblocking action is relatively harsh, working mainly to break up Qi Stagnation; its movement is primarily horizontal, making it more suited to pain. Chen Pi is gentler by comparison and tends to enter the Qi level of the Spleen and Lungs; its movement is more vertical, making it more suited to cough and vomiting.
- It benefits Qi Stagnation in the upper back and chest.
- In moderate doses, it is said to treat allergies.
- Dry-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel, Chao Qing Pi, has an enhanced ability to harmonize the Stomach, treating chest and flank distention and pain, poor appetite, and abdominal fullness from Liver-Stomach Disharmony.
- Vinegar-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel, Cu Chao Qing Pi, directs its action specifically to the Liver channel, with an enhanced ability to dredge and break up Liver Qi.
- Wine-fried Unripe Tangerine Peel, Jiu Chao Qing Pi, has enhanced dispersing qualities that promote the flow of Qi and Blood, as in abdominal masses.
- Charred Unripe Tangerine Peel, Qing Pi Tan, has a weaker ability to break up Qi, but still reduces Food Stagnation, resolves obstruction, and harmonizes the Stomach — used for Food Stagnation with epigastric distention and belching.
