- Some sources also credit it with stopping bleeding.
- Hu Po and Poria Fu Ling both calm the Spirit, promote urination, and treat Spirit disorders. Hu Po works at the Blood level with a draining tendency and suits cases where ascendant Yang or excess Fire disturbs the Heart; it transforms Stagnation and opens the orifices, treating painful urinary dysfunction from Bladder Damp-Heat or Blood Stagnation marked by scanty, painful, bloody urination. Fu Ling works at the Qi level with a tonifying tendency and suits cases where the Heart lacks nourishment or pathogenic water disturbs it; it boosts Qi and leaches out Dampness, treating Qi Deficiency that fails to transform fluids and results in edema and scanty urine.
