Połączenia

  • Qi blocked by Cold-Dampness, producing chest fullness with a stifling feeling, epigastric fullness and pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite, and a thick tongue coating.

    • Chen Pi

Spleen-Stomach Deficiency with turbid Dampness accumulating, causing chest and abdominal fullness and discomfort, belching, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

  • Early-stage warm febrile disease presenting headache, a stifling chest sensation, fatigue, scanty dark urine, and diarrhea, typically with a white greasy coating — an Exterior pattern where Dampness predominates over Heat.

  • Damp-Warm disease in the Middle Jiao with recurring fever, scanty dark urine, a yellow coating, and body aches — an Exterior pattern where Heat predominates over Dampness.

  • Distention from Qi Stagnation or from Cold-Damp lodged in the Spleen and Stomach.

  • Nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, and poor appetite from Cold-Damp or from Food Stagnation.

  • Belching caused by Stomach Cold.

  • Given as a powder placed in an infant's mouth to stop milk being spit up.

  • Dampness accumulated in the Middle Jiao.

Uwagi

  • Certain sources note that this herb breaks up Stagnation, aids digestion, and counters alcohol intoxication.
  • It is also applied to eye conditions such as superficial visual obstruction and reddened canthi.
  • It excels particularly at opening and dispersing blocked Lung Qi.
  • It further addresses nervous Deficiency marked by mental and physical fatigue.
  • Some sources hold that it treats diarrhea containing undigested food, particularly raw vegetables.
  • It works well for colic and for milk vomited by infants.
  • Combined with Fr. Amomi Sha Ren, it treats abdominal pain and distention with vomiting and diarrhea; Sha Ren suits the Middle and Lower Jiaos (as in diarrhea) better, while Bai Dou Kou is more fitting for the Upper and Middle Jiaos (as in vomiting).
  • Bai Dou Kou, Fr. Tsaoko Cao Guo, and Sm. Myristicae Rou Dou Kou each warm the Stomach and rouse the Spleen. Bai Dou Kou stands out for its clean, penetrating aroma and strong acridity; leaving no astringent aftertaste, it is best at lifting, opening, and draining Qi Stagnation in the Upper Jiao, whereas Cao Guo and Rou Dou Kou act only on the Middle Jiao.
  • Bai Dou Kou and Fr. Amomi Cao Dou Kou both move the Qi, settle the Stomach, warm the Middle, and transform Dampness. Cao Dou Kou is less effective at moving Qi and dispersing Lung Qi, but is warmer and drier for clearing turbid Dampness, and can stand in for Bai Dou Kou.
  • Round Cardamon Kernels Bai Dou Kou Ren more strongly promote Qi flow and transform Dampness, warm the Stomach, and relieve nausea; they treat nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain from Stomach Cold with Qi Stasis.
  • Round Cardamon Husks (Pericarpium Amomi Rotundum) Bai Dou Kou Ke are milder than the Kernels but still regulate Qi, settle the Middle, and relieve nausea; they are given for Qi Stasis, abdominal distention, poor appetite, and nausea.
  • Round Cardamon Flowers (Flos Amomi Rotundum) Bai Dou Kou Hua are neutral and acrid, freeing up the Stomach, easing the chest, and resolving distention.
